big lump after bone graft?

Hi there!

I had a bone graft from my hip 14 days ago,had the stiches out after 8 days,it looked ok but was very bumpy & sore.

its now 14 days on from the opp, and tonight im getting alot of pain from a fluid'y lump thats come up around the scar?

it seems alot warmer than my other hip,& its so painfull?

im going to see a doctor in the morning,but thought id see first,if anyone else has had an opp like this,and if this is common?

these are the same symptoms I had after a hernia operation a month ago and are a bit alarming, I got painkillers to take after the op. The swelling started to subside after the third week along with the heat and now I hardly notice it. I imagine most people have the same discomfort following surgery.

When wounds are healing they get hot!  Its nature doing its stuff, however, if it causes you untolderable pain or oozes or looks 'angry' get thee to a doctor!

Hi there, thanks for both your replys, i went to see the doc's & he told me i had a build up of fluid from the opp,& that it should sort itself out within 3 weeks!

hope it does as its so painfull,& he didnt give me anything for the pain!

        (but thats life!)
