Mrs Andyvon (Yvonne) is on the sofa at the moment watching TV. I can't stand all the adverts and trailers so I stopped watching TV many years ago. That's why I spend so much time on here. Yvonne watches TV with her headphones on so I don't have to listen to the rubbish she watches and she doesn't hear me typing. We also have an agreement that I never have to listen to sport - especially football - as she loves all sport and I can't stand it! She's there now, about five feet away with her headphones on - watching US baseball and completely oblivious to me posting this!

It's a bit different here Andy. I make hubby wear headphones while he's on his laptop listening to music and I watch the telly and tap away on mine. I like watching the sport too but draw the line at US sport. Fortunately neither of us are into any of the reality tv programmes.

Hi Jan,

Nor are we into soaps thank Heavens. We have never seen an episode of Eastenders, Big Brother, X-Factor, or any of the other things many people seem to mention. However, my wife does love sport. I don't mind of course, but I am puzzled sometimes. My wife watches baseball for hours - but then she says she doesn't understand it! (It's still on now I've just noticed).

Before the headphones arrived Yvonne was banished to the bedroom to watch football! For several years we didn't have a TV. We bought two a few years ago (lounge and bedroom) but with the understanding that Yvonne would only watch football in the bedroom!

Thank God for the Internet I say.
