Laptop on TV

Got a good picture running my laptop through my tv using a HDMi lead but there is no sound ( only on the Laptop ) any idea's please

You may have to set your laptop to send sound down the HDMI, somehow.

HDMI cables don't carry sound signals, you will have to use a cable from the headphone socket of the lappy to the phono-in sockets on the TV.

Thanks quizman55, I've just ordered 1 audio cable off Ebay.

You shouldn't need an extra cable.

1)Turn on the laptop, with no HDMI cable plugged in.
2) Ensure Sound is set to "Speakers/Headphones"
3) Turn on TV and plug HDMI cable into TV
4) Turn TV onto the appropriate HDMI channel
5) ONLY THEN, PLUG IN THE HDMI cable to the laptop.
6) You may need to toggle "Function F8" to get the image on the TV.
7) You should now have sound and image through the TV.

Yes they do.

Change the playback device in sounds.

Right click your screen and look in properties - HDMI sound might be in there.
