Hi - I would like to have a go at editing and generally "playing" with my photos but I am no computer expert. I did do an evening class on the basics a year or two ago and would like something that will give me maximum tools without costing a fortune and will work with my computer which has XP - any suggestions gratefully received.

I too like messing with my pix and I can recommend Photoshop Elements 7. It does loads of things and mine was £38 ish on Amazon.
If you want to download an excellent freebie, there's one called Photoscape (just put it in Google) which has some lovely features.
I find I use different programs for different things but Elements is a good 'all rounder' and the Clone tool is amazing.
There's so many programs available now but as you say, some are expensive but the two I have recommended are great.
Good luck with choosing-have fun with your photos!
Best wishes, Maz x

hello woozer I too, love playing around with my photographs and there are lots of programmes you can use to add animation and captions ect, when I hed XP I worked with Nero Photoshow 4, try looking into CNet to see if you are able to download it, it is very good and brings your stills to life, you can also add your favourite music tracks from you computer to time them to pan in and out
Godd luck
