Gomez put the ball down, Nani checked with the referee that it was still in open play, and he indicated it was so put the ball in the back of the net.
Bizarre goal, and the keepers fault.

Trapped......I'm a Spurs fan (why did you think I was Leeds?....my OP wasn't anti United it was anti Clattenberg)
Bernie......Gomez is a top keeper, one of the best in the Premiership, he had a shaky start for Spurs but has been excellent since.......he just wrongly thought Fergies secret son Mark Clattenberg had given an obvious free-kick for Nani's handball......the linesman (will never get used to calling them a referee's assistant!) pointed this out but still Clattenberg overruled him
It didn't change the result because Spurs probably still would have lost but it still irks
A couple of years ago ref Howard Webb awarded United a very dubious penalty when Spurs were 2-0 ahead at Old Trafford and this changed the whole game with United going on to win easily (see link below)

At Old Trafford United tend to get all the big decisions go their way, the away team always suffers......referees have their own agenda and if they want to make their way in the game giving decisions against United at Old Trafford is not a good thing to have on their CV
