I have a painting by someone called Yvonne Dupre. Its an oil, or very thick acrylic of 5 women in Edwardian style dress at the beach. I really like the pic, but could find no info in Google about the artist.
Longtompot, it could be that Yvonne Dupre was an enthusiastic amateur or perhaps a local painter to you.
If she wasn't a celebrated artist, it's unlikely that you'll find anything on Google, unfortunately.
Just wanted to say i have the very same picture as mentioned. but i would say it's more like a stream that they are walking too.
I too like the picture a lot and have been trying to find something about the artist.
i am in wales .uk ..
I also had the same picture by the same artist. We bought it in Birkenhead, Merseyside some 14 - 15 years ago and have just given it away. Hope it was not valuable!!
I have a similar painting which I have just inherited, only mine has 2 edwardian women and one girl over looking a lake wiht mountains in the back ground! Its a stunning painting and I wonder how they have managed to cover such a wide space of our country considering she is only a local artist! I did manage to find a portrait artist by the name of yvonne dupre who I have emailed and am awaiting an answer to see ifshe is the artist! I'll post further when I know!
Hi, I inherited a similar picture 10 years ago from my Grand-mother. The picture is signed by Yvonne Dupre however this is not the work of the american portrait painter. My painting features a woman and five young ladies playing on the beach in victorian dress. The picture was purchased in an art gallery in Paddington near Portobello Rd. The art gallery is no longer there but perhaps the painting is called Yvonne Dupre after the flambouyant french actress Yvonne Printemps.
