i'm sorry i don't know the answer, but i'm curious. Is that per day per person? Also i am not all that surprised contents insurers are saying no - i suppose you could live without "stuff"
Both your buildings policy and contents policy will (I'd be extremely surprised if they don't) provide alternative accommodation expenses - usually up to about 20% of the buildings sum insured and contents sum insured.

As both policies provide the cover, alternative accomodation expenses will be shared by both insurers based on their rateable proportion of the loss - this is a Contribution condition which will be found in both policies.

If I were in your boots I'd be inclined to tell both insurers that your daughter is about to start charging you rent of £.....per week.
