Has anyone on here used one of these.I bought one last year when they were on offer and haven't used it.I've now got the decorating bug and want to decorate my bedroom but the colours for the paint pod are very limited. Can I use ordinary paint(the instructions say I shouldn't)or would it completely mess up the machine?I can't really see what harm it could do the paint pod paint is apparently a different consistency.
TIA

My hubby works for B & Q and people have tried to return paint pods that have developed a fault because they used the wrong paint. You are right in saying that the paint for this is very specific.
We have a paint pod and my wife loves it. It's very easy to use, quick and cleans itself ! Sometimes you have to run the clean twice to get it really cleaned out.
There are more colours available for the pod now but you cannot use ordinary paint in it, it clogs the whole system up.
That is interesting; so after you've bought the system you find Dulux have tied you in to their product. Crafty, arguably unethical. So, what if you thinned other manufacturer's paint down, and applied more coats, wouldn't that give you your freedom back again ?
Why anyone would want to buy this stupid paint pod puzzles me, there is nothing more simple than to pour paint into a paint tray and use a normal roller, the so called paint pod is nothing more than a con, it will just end up in the back of the shed unused.
I think you wil find quite a few products in B&Q et al which could be described as a solution in search of a problem. When I used to watch Dragons' Den I thought many of the ideas were also of this type.
sorry to disagree with folks but the paint pod is great if you are up a ladder, you just paint! no hanging tins on the ladder, no balancing trays on window cills.
The special pod paints aren't a lot more expensive than regular paint and they don't run as much.
I like mine and I HATE painting.
Willwonker it will Not sit in the back of the shed unused(It's in the loft unused!!!)The only colours you can get are really wishy washy.I think it's a great idea and am looking forward to using it but maybe not for the bedroom,Think I need to get the good ole roller and tray out.
Thank you all for your answers and by the way if anyone is interested in buying a Paint pod-new in box-never used let me know!!!!
The best thing about the paint pod is... no paint spray like you get from a roller.
Mr M has one and really likes it (he's a professional painter and decorator)
wanting to paint downstairs loo. im just dreading it as im no good when it comes to missing the ceiling and the skirting boards. could prep skirting with tape i suppose but any tips for not touching ceiling and forming a near as perfect straight top line? did wonder if this pod thing would help with that.
