Hi all, I have just bought a skoda octavia 1.9 tdi 52 plate, it has a microscan 311 alarm fitted. The problem is that the car cannot be alarmed untill the interior light has gone out due to an electrical sensing feature on the alarm and the light fades out after aprox 30 sec (fine on a dry day !) is there any way of reducing the time that the light stays on after the doors have been closed
heres hoping

yes i can turn it off at the switch but i still have to wait the 30 sec as the current is still being sent to the switch, just want to know if there is any way of reducing the time delay or is there a work aroung to bypass the delay so that the light goes out as soon as the doors are closed, thanks for the reply gsr
I cannot see the problem here Fatgaz, 30 seconds! are you in that much of a rush? ( No offence ment)
Don't know too much about electrics on cars but how about fitting a delay switch on the alarm? IF that is easier?
A lot of messing about for very little benefit.

hi twr, no im not normally in that much of a rush but when its bucketing down with rain id rather not be stood around in it for 30 sec
A thought about your quest Fatgas, if it was proven that you had altered the alarm on your car in any way, do you think your Insurance would find a cop out clause if it where stolen? I think I would prefer to get wet than chance that.
Pity it's not the Octavia 'Superb' that has an umbrella fitted as standard, which may itself prove to be a much cheaper accessory, lol.

thanks for all your replies i think i will have the alarm disabled and just use the factory fitted one, once angain thanks
