Does a bridle not hurt a horse´s mouth over a long time being pulled from side to side and suffering metal on teeth?
I have just come from the dentist and I can imagine how it feels .
properly fitted and used, the bit shouldn't touch the horse's teeth. It should sit on the bars (gaps) of the mouth. If you are tacking up a horse and bash or rub the bit on its teeth, it won't like it at all. Smart well trained and cared for horses co operate with tacking up and will open their mouths and take the bit themselves.
