Last night I realised that I sleep kind of in the recovery position. Except with a pillow between my hands/arms and my head also the hand thats meant to be flat against my cheek is often on my shoulder, but roughly in the right place for the RP.

And with my asthma I find that i'm not wheezing when i lay like this.

Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

I suffer with asthma molly and its the position i find comfy to drift off in x
It's a natural position and I often sleep like this. I sometimes sleep flat on my back, but the favoured position is on my left side more or less as you describe, but I keep the pillow under my head - although often my hand sneaks under the pillow.
In our house we find sometimes we sleep how we can, the majority of the bed is often taken up by Sprawled Cat.

is it good for you? well it would be if you fell unconscious but if it good for your back to lay like that all night?

Does anyone else do it?
You can't control how you sleep once you're asleep.

I go to sleep in a similar position to you but usually wake up on my back with my arms spread. I given Ginger a few nosebleeds over the years :-)
pretty much the same except I usually have 3 pillows with one pulled further round which supports my shoulders while on my side...I have asthma too but another problem means I need to sleep semi upright
I used to sleep on my side but on waking, was always on my back. I think laying on part of my arm was disturbing my sleep. I now sleep on my back with head to the side and it's much better.
I sleep like that too. Weird really to sleep with a hand under the pillow, but it seems I'm not alone. I wake up with dead arms every morning due to neck problems (even if I change my sleeping position).

It`s called the recovery position because it keeps the airway open which might be why you don`t wheez. Unless your asthma is aggrevated by house dust mites in the pillows of course, in which case it could make it worse as your face is burried in them!
*buried*
I always go to sleep on that side-in that position. I can't get to sleep on the right side.I too, often wake in the morning on my back.
You won't stay in the same position all night,molly-our bodies move 30 or more times as we sleep.

I'm roughly in that position but a bit more curled up with both legs bent when I wake up. Once i'm asleep I hardly move. 237 no it's exertive asthma.
I am trying to force myself to sleep on my front as an aid to stopping snoring. Problem is I find lying on my front or side quite uncomfortable. I usually wake up on my back.
It's a sleep position I adopted thirty years ago when I was pregnant, and one I've slept in ever since. When my doctor was questioning me about possible sleep apnoea a few months ago (I don't have it), she asked me what position I slept in. When I told her, she said it was one of the best positions to sleep in if you're comfortable with it.
I usually sleep face down but I must have one foot stuck out of the bed, I think it works like a heat exchanger to keep me cool. I also like a cold bedroom.

I nearly always have a skylight window open right above my bed which is great until like last night I woke up being rained on.
I like the windows open as well RATTER. Drives OH mad because he comes home to a cold house and me wearing layers of clothes :-)
