thanks for you help. will pass it on to my daughter.
Hi NazNomad......I know very little about computers. Consequently, I ask the question......If mabel1's daughter is unable to access the internet, how does she download 'Malwarebytes'.? Mum can but not her daughter!!!

Ron.
Mabel1. Download malwarebytes installation exe yourself, copy to external drive or burn to cd and install it from there onto your daughters machine. Hopefully the latest version will include updates to remove Think Point. If it does not remove it, boot your daughters machine into safe mode and try again.
I had this just this morning. Follow this guide and let me know how you get on.
1- Start up the PC and keep tapping F8
2- Choose to start in 'Safe Mode'
3- When PC starts up just accept the Thinkpoint safe startup
4- Press Ctrl,Alt Delete simultaniously.
5- Go to file tab, new task (run), Browse
6- Look in Local Disk Drive (possibly C: drive)
7- Go to documents and settings/all users/start menu/programs/accessories/system tools/system restore
8- Then simply choose what date you want to restore your computer back to

Let me know how she gets on. Good luck.

On second thoughts, you may be able to do this whilst the pc is running normally, I would try that first before resorting to safe mode.
