How does it affect you and your family? Some people don't want to work. Where I live when I go into town there is a lot of unemployed. Some want to go back to work, some sit around all day drinking cider and other cheap booze. So how does it affect you?

Are you unemployed Jackles?
I've been unemployed for two and a half years due to illness. Would love to go back to work but now awaiting another operation. Hubby is also unemployed since May due to illness and we are driving each other mad with boredom. We are both hoping this will change next year but can't see anyone employing us as we are both now in our mid 50's. We don't sit around all day drinking cider but do like a drink or two in the evening. It's the only thing we can afford these days. Hope that has answered your question micmak.
micmak, as i said now voluntary unemployed; i could afford to pack up a job i found morally indefensible.this is not comparable to the 80 s when as i implied we had to-not beg- but maybe steal to survive.
Jackles - I thought being out of work and getting drunk went hand in hand !
Remember the old joke ... What's green and gets you pissed? ... A Giro.
