I was wondering what you meant by your use of the term "peace mongers" in the deleted thread about Armistice day.
Can you enlighten me ?

I'm a peace monger, I mediate at work all the time and make sure there is not fracious behavior or misunderstandings, works better than lettin people get away with selfish idiocy, we're all working for the same reason and it's not so that we can make others miserable.

That's great, keep up the good work - I just wondered what Jaydah's definition was though.
Question Author
...come on, it can't be that difficult to answer.
People who work for peace rather than war.
Peacemonger as opposed to warmonger.
Question Author
Thanks SB - I just wanted to hear Jaydah's definition as used in the context of yesterday's thread that was deleted.
Glad to see you're not dwelling on the matter, AP........

:-p
Oooops - I dont often refer back on CB due to heavy traffic, so missed this.

I referred to the white poppy on Armistice Day and wondered if there was a special day for the wearing of a white poppy. While am aware of the meaning of armistice it seemed irreverant on a day of Remembrance for too many lives lost.

nb best we keep to this thread, else we'll be suspended for using another thread.
Question Author
Well thankyou for finally responding, I don't believe you can be "suspended" for posting in the wrong thread but that's beside the point: you still haven't answered my question:
What do you mean by "peace mongers"? (it can't be THAT difficult to answer).
Peace-monger applied as it was on Remembrance Day by the wearing of the white poppy, to me meant the wearer to object to rememberance of the day. Rather like a conscientious objector of the last war period.

I admit I found it objectional on that day but would happily wear it on its own terms.
Question Author
Ahh I see ...At long last a real answer.

The wearing of the WHITE poppy (at least to me) represents a commemoration and mourning of those lost in *A* war and the questionability of wars in general.

"A conscientious objector of the last war period".

You mean brave people that DARED to question the very nature of a war, the battle plans of which history later proved to be questionable ?

You used the term "PEACEMONGER" as if being an advocate of PEACE was a bad thing.

I sincerely hope that you find the true meaning of "peace" before you depart this world.
If the elected powers decide war is necessary to protect our peoples, then so be it. We can only trust the Gov have privy to more information for their decisions than we do.

There's little point in advocating peace when one is under attack.

nb Am off now but will check back later.

"We can only trust the Gov have privy to more information for their decisions than we do".
That, as far as I'm concerned is being a 'sheep'.
We can't IMO, we have choices - no government is infallible.
UK Gov decisions are what we live by. There are given channels to protest that may sway the Gov decisions.

People who cannot agree terms of their rulers/leaders (ie China's dictatorial rule) immigrate or request asylum in other countries of their choice.

In short "if you can't stand the heat..?" LOL
