I want to be able to do a search to find all accounts in my name in the UK as I think my Dad has opened either a credit card or savings accounts in my name. Is there an easy way to find them?
My Dad opened an ISA account in my brother's name without his knowledge (for my Dad's benefit). My bro only found out when he saw a letter arrive one day. My Dad also transferred old shares that I owned into his name (without my knowledge) as he said the (very small) dividend cheques were going to waste (I now live in Australia and don't have a UK bank account to bank them). I know it's not big stuff by I don't know how this may affect me having money put into accounts under my name?

Thanks SandyRoe, I did see that site when I did a google search earlier, but it seems that it is only for lost forgotten accounts not current accounts as far as I can tell. And only if you know the provider you may have an account with. I'll have another look though and may give it a go.
It should still find it, beeboo - you can still have a current account which has been forgotten about, I know my dad did.
Hi, I was the victim of credit card fraud a couple of years back, so I joined experian

http://www.experian.co.uk

This tells you your credit details and alot of information that is in your name, previous addresses and it will also alert you if new credit is taken out in your name. Maybe just join for the minimum period to find information out.
In the UK you can get a credit search done free as part of a trial subscription or you can pay for a one-off check.
I'm not sure how it works though if you are in Australia. They may need a UK address for you. They also need to do checks to make sure you are who you say you are

Thank you. I have now applied for a credit check through Experian, they send the code to access the report by post. I gave them my UK address so will have to wait for my brother to collect the mail to give me the code. About 4 extra questions were asked about past/current financial accounts to verify I was the correct person which was a good safety measure. However I wonder if someone had commited ID fraud with my ID there may be accounts opened I don't know about and so wouldn't have been able to answer them correctly.. Thank you for your responses.
