I am chuffed but really need to prepare myself for the fact some of these children will in fact sadly pass on. I really want to take this job but i know it will be emotionally difficult when some of these children eventually pass on . What would you do to best mentally prepare yourself ?

i have no faith as such sqad thanks for your honesty
in fact thanks all for your answers :o) x
I think it will be a fantastic job and you will be very good at it. Yes, there will be sad times, but on the whole I hope you find it to be worthwhile and rewarding. Go for it zzxxee - and just take things as they come. Try not to take things home with you though.... leave the emotion at work and don't let it affect your home life. That's all I can say.... Good luck love x

its very important to seperate work from home i agree x
Of course you will get upset...you will get to know these children through repeated admissions....don't be afraid to ask the experienced staff for help and support they may well have systems in place....if so use them.... also strange thing losing their hair makes the children look a lot younger than they are...so try to bear in mind their real ages.....and don't feel guilty if you feel like strangling them sometimes they are kids first and cancer patients second
I think you'll be ideal for this kind of work, zzxxee....not all can do it, and it takes a special kind of person in order too.
In answer to your question, sweetheart, just be yourself and prepare for ups and downs, but for mainly making sure that the little lovelies have the best time they can possibly have with you about.

You're a good 'un, zzxxee, but i'm perhaps a bit biased, as you're also a mate. :0) xxx
