Can I get rid of Bing?

It's on the toolbar in my Firefox browser

Go to - VIEW (at the top of your screen) - Click on TOOLBARS - unclick Bing.

You may have got the Windows Live toolbar if you recently downloaded Windows Live.

The story is that when Microsoft started to write their own search product people said
"But Its Not Google", which is where they got BING from.

You either have the toolbar installed, in which case follow davethedogs suggestion, or you may be talking about the standard search box in firefox, in which case Click the little arrow to the left of the search box and select manage manage search engines and change it to whatever you want.

thanks for that - have just got a new pc as the dog knocked over my old trusty Compaq RS3000 - and its front page is (will be has been) this odd 'Bing. It is now to be executed and duly staked with the Microsoft exorcist kit I have in my typing fingers.
