been looking on google for an answer posted this then found one!
hi, our daughter's funeral was paid for by the hospital and funeral directors, not the council, although the shared plot was provided by the council for free However, most funeral directors will not charge for the basic funeral of ANY child no matter how old.
We did have the choice to arrange a funeral ourselves or let the hospital arrange it
Hi gina32, my son was still born 15years ago and the hospitals social worker organised the funeral. My son was cremated and the next week we were given them to bury them where we wanted. We put with my grandparents(his great ones) and now, he is with my Mum who passed away four years ago. The funeral directors were fantastic they helped a lot and made this heartbreaking situation a bit easier to bear.
