Is there a seamstress or anyone out here thet could come up with an idea as to an alternative to sewing buttons on to a uniform,( not the 4 holed variety of button, the type with hooked back,) I'd thought of a tiny keyring type of thing (a small circular device to hook through the material and button.) If this makes sense I would appreciate any replies?? Many thanks.
Thank you, so you think the small circular metal thingy might work do you? are these available to buy? if so where do you suggest I start looking, John Lewis perhaps or some haberdashery outlet.? I need about 16 for a miltary outfit, I do appreciate your reply Thank you.
If the hole at the back of the button is the right size, you can fasten the button at the back with a treasury tag, but you would then need to stitch both ends of the treasury tag to the back of the fabric to stop it sliding off. What's the problem with sewing the buttons on?
Thank you boxtops, no problem with sewing, but the material is quite slippery and I thought it would be easier to get the buttons in an exact pattern , equally spaced etc. just trying the easiest way, !! Thank you very much, Nelliebee.
