i have a work pc which over the last week has been doing some odd things, slow on boot up etc. im convinced theres something running in the backround somewhere , it just doesnt feel right. I spoke to out company techie guys who had a quick look via VNC, they picked up a something they were not happy with in the 'system config utilities' under start up,
software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run the startup & command boxes are blank!
After a quick google it appears to be some form of virus/spyware i have ran a full deep scan with AVG over the weekend with nothing showing up, any suggestions guys ?

If this is a work's PC, I would suggest asking your IT section to look at it.

read the post,
they did via VNC...our head office is 100+ miles away.
I did read the post. If your IT Section have looked at it, have they not solved any issues or did they just say, "There is something I am not happy with" and left you to your own devices?
You are looking for help, that's not a nice 'tone' to use. - "read the post, "
Ask the tech guys to download and update malwarebytes. Then run it in safe mode.

cheers TTG,
i have that loaded already but only ran a basic scan on friday , will run a full scan before i go home , my tech guys also suggested the same thing.

just to add - it was suggested by me techies this morning
Make sure you run it in safe mode. Install it that way too if you can. Scary bit - might be helpful to turn off system restore whilst doing it too... or run RKill.
Are you having a bad day Society ?
