It's not the papercuts themselves that hurt so much.

It's the vampires that run across the room and bite you.
Now that is an odd answer JJ!! Funny but odd.

ha ha, JJ - thought I'd managed to get rid of them all!

It happens to be right on the crease of my finger and I can barely see it but I swear it would be less painful to just cut the whole finger off.*

*might be a slight exagurtation. (and I can't spell).

if only there was a "like" button, JJ
I have a scar on my top lip from a paper cut. Still there 30 years later...
3 layers of skin, the nerves being in the 2nd and 3rd layers..........the papercut only passes through the first and perhaps 2nd layer, leaving the nerves intact but completely exposed..............like the nerve of a tooth.

It is this exposure that makes papercuts so painful.
Ah, that explains my pain at the constant exposure of Jordan/Katie Price. She gets on my nerves.
I'd heard somewhere that it is because tiny bits of paper get left in the cut so (unhygienic as it may be) if you suck the cut it gets the paper out and makes it better.
