Is it 'there but just not working when you click it' or is it 'greyed-out and not able to be clicked'?
Mines fine.
It's unlikely to be 'site related' ... More likely the 'Places Database' re:Firefox.
what's a back button?
You have a back button? Where do I find my own? Or is it the 'home' button?
Back/Forward buttons on your navigation toolbar, Dotty.
The arrows Dotty..
OK I now realise what back button you referring to. It's on the browser....
arrows? I didn't even see the Indians

Thanks everyone ....It seems to have sorted itself out now.....Probably just me after aweek-end.. heavy ..

* heavy week-end.....
Keith - many of us are having the problem. It is on AB only and seems to be related to the advertising banner at the top of the page - when it is showing a "The webpage cannot be found" error. Do you get a "Bad request" message at the top and the sides of the page when you attempt to use the back button?
No. I've just tried the back button because I forgot to sign in before I wrote a post, it works fine for me. I've never seen this Bad Request sign either!

No message at all ...it just wouldn't go back to previous page....I'm still not convinced it was me , because it was only happening on AB..
boxtops - I,m sure it is an AB problem because it does not happen on other sites. I have the problem with AOL browser but have now switched to IE and cannot replicate the problem. ???

I'm certain now that it is an AB fault.....I am getting either ...BAD REQUEST (REQUEST HEADER TOO LONG )...or ..THE WEBPAGE CANNOT BE FOUND..
.
These messages are on the page header..
I get that at the top. It looks like it's an advert that doesn't display correctly.
Loads of people posting the same problem lately ...

Cookies for a site are usually sent in the request and they may be causing the request header to be oversized.

I know it's passé, but clear your AB cookies and then see if it does it.

.... ED ... STICKY POST MAYBE?
