How often should one replace engine coolant and brake fluid?

All depends when it was last changed MantaRay, if you yourself feel that the fluids has been in for a while then change the lot, when, I purchased my car I replace the complete fluid system, at least then I know the full system has clean fluids.

i tend to leave it to my garage take care off that wen i take it in for a service lol

Most manufacturers say every 2 years, look in your car servicing schedule
2 years for brake fluid and 3 for coolant would be ok.
