Tapes to PC
6 Answers
I have a load of old cassette tapes which I want to preserve to my PC or CD.
Has anybody got a suggestion of the best way to do this please.
I have looked at the Ion cassette player, but it gets some poor reviews.
I've also googled and found the Digitope Cassette to CD kit, which seems to get good reviews, (although these are probably edited by the seller).
Is there a reliable package out there?

On the reviews for this as usual there are peeps who had no problems with the unit, but several others who had problems with wow and flutter caused by the tape drive being poor.
Didn't really want to spend money if there's a chance I could get a dodgy one and there is a better system out there.
Appreciate your quick reply, and you will be added to the "yes" side.

Well, I'm pretty sure that the software supplied with the Ion is Audacity, and that's free to anyone: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
