I appear to be having a run of not-good luck. The car wouldn't start - needed a new battery (car's festive present sorted then). Came home and key broke in front door lock. Have just tried to play a cd on player/radio combo and the disc will not turn. This computer is beginning to look as though it's state of health is worse than my own and I do not know if I will be able to finish this op.

Now, should I or should I not spash out on the Lottery tomorrow, or should I just put the money into some charitable collection tin and cut out the middle men?

Ena, while you can still type, go buy your lottery ticket on-line now, so you don't have to leave the house to buy it tomorrow. If your front door slams behind you and you have forgotten your new key, we will never forgive ourselves.... ;-)
oh do tell...i haven't had 'one of those days' for a while now. it's actually quite a relief to know it does happen to others! i hope you are ok now, tho x

Boxy - I have never done it on line. So long as I do my green cross code at the kerb I am sure I will be fine. I have had my house keys turned into earings now ;o)
Elcie - I hope you had your dinner some time ago!
MRSA screened today for the first time. I am used to all the other procedures in the hospital, but there is nothing like trying out something new <ahem>. The nice lady took a swab stick from its wrapping and proceeded to delicately insert into both nostrils. So far so good. Better put any liquid containers on to flat surfaces now...
Oh no. Please no.
i hope you sneezed all over her as a thank you...everyone gets tested now and perhaps i'm just old fashioned, but a swab up your nose on a first date is a bit forward...x

... She then unwrapped a second swab stick and approached me again so I opened my mouth. Well at least I had anticipated my next response so it saved me time. I had no idea that MRSA screening involved the groin area too.
You can pick up your glass again now Elsie!
oooh! that's just too much!!! i'd have probably told her to jog on. nearly piked out of a facial the other day when they asked me to take my top off. they did give me a towel for dignity, but still freaked me right out. it was crap as well (and cost me £50) x

A colleague phoned me tonight to check how things had gone (Yeah right!). She was aware that my local NHS hospital screens for both MRSA and HIV. News to me. Anyway I just need to go back next week for a fasting/thirsting blood test and it will be all systems go, I hope.
You must have a very long face Elsie! ;o)
