Go shopping for a few snacky things, but not even bother to get the things your family and you need such as sugar and milk OR go to your child's award night where they were going to get at least one certificate for effort and achievment in the previous year aswell as their gcse certificates?

It's a tough choice I know . . . .

I get you doc.
To gain excellent grades at school is an acheivement and demonstrates a great level of commitment. However, doesn't teach you some basic common sense and social skills that you need in the real world - probably a discussion for a new thread!!
Molly, my parents didn't even bother to ask what grades I got for my GCSE's!! They don't know about any of my achievements in life. I don't actually care what they think about me anymore or whether or not they could be bothered with me because I know that I did well and I am proud of myself. If it bothers you so much and you feel let down by your Dad then maybe you shouldn't look to him for praise then you can't be disappointed... works for me.
Molly, sounds to me you feel neglected and unloved by your parents, and you’d like for them to pay attention to you, at least sometimes. And I think you are lonely that’s why you come on here to vent your feelings. I do feel for you. Be proud of yourself, at least you have your heads on your shoulders.
Be proud of yourself Molly. It really would be best if you could tell your Mum or Dad how you feel, they cant read your mind. Good luck. For all the people who seem to continually have a go at Molly, all I can say, is if she offends/upsets/hacks you off,so that you have to be rude or unsympathetic.......why on earth do you continue to read her threads?????????

I do honky, and thanks you guess on this page . . . . :)
My dad missed a really important family event, when we got back he said he'd forgotten - we knew it was really because he hated formal social gatherings. I would stop trying to analyse your dad if I were you mollykins, just accept.
