Assuming on the first day you get a partridge in a pear tree and the second you get two turtle doves AND a partridge etc you'll find it adds up to a lot of stuff!
You'll have 42 swans-a-swimming and 42 geese-a-laying. There was a funny sketch done by Prunella Scales on this years ago.
Valanne of course you are right! How stupid of me! I forgot that this is a cumulative song! So, 42 geese and 42 swans
