is there a way to modify above pc/operating system to connect to the internet wirelessely? any help appreciated.

Windows 98? Really?

There should, in theory anyway, be no reason that you can't do this so long as you can find a USB wireless network device with Windows 98 drivers.

Windows 98 doesn't support wireless zero configuration, so you'll have to install drivers and/or configuration software for the device.

thanks for reply.have found a pcmcia card that is supposed to be win98 compatable.
see how it goes.
