Anyone out there has been diagnosed with this, I am confused as after blood test my doctor didn't want to see me for a fortnight and has now told me I can't have a glass of wine with my evening meal??

Because alcohol can cause accute pancreatitis which can be a severe, life-threatening illness with many complications.

Never had it myself but a friend of mine has and she has been told that she must never touch alcohol for the rest of her life.
