Eurostar to Bruge
11 Answers
Hi, hope you can help. I'm going on a mini break to Bruges via Brussels, can someone tell me if you need to get your ticket stamped/clipped before the onward journey to Bruges, also is the platform in the main Eurostar station or do I have to travel to another station. Many thanks for any responses.

Go down to the main concourse and look at the TV screens or the big departure boards to find your train to Bruges / Brugge. You will find departure TV screens at the bottom of the escalators leading to the platforms and, when you are on the platform, there are illuminated signs showing the next train.
There are more than 20 platforms.
I'm sure that you will enjoy Bruges - wrap up warm if you are coming in the next few days!

the reason i ask, is because my sister booked a mini break with them going to brussels by eurostar for a long weekend. cut a long story short, her and hubby got to themselves to London to board the eurostar train to discover that expedia hadnt confirmed the booking with Eurostar, the outcome no holiday to brussels, to celebrtae a wedding anniversary.!!! plus being a busy time, 1/2 term, no chance of getting another train. Trying to contact Expedia has turned out to be fruitless. dont answer calls or emails.
Just to add to the other posts:
There are normally at least two trains per hour to Brugge (which is how you'll see the city's name displayed on screens). The regular platform number is 15.
Tickets are always checked on board all trains between Bruxelles Midi (which, because of Belgium's two languages, is also called 'Zuid') and I've never had any problems with having Eurostar tickets accepted for onward travel.

I didn't go on the canal trip but certainly walked along them for ages. The place put me in mind of a fairytale town, lots of surprising little alleys and pathways leading to cafes and restaurants, I was in complete awe, also the natives where lovely, really helpful and nice. I will go back when it's warmer. The food was great too, we had wonderful meals there and of course plenty of gluewein. All that being said though, it wa flipping pricey for a drink.
