My insurance policy pays new for old except bedding and clothes unless you can produce receipt. Who keeps receipts for shoes jumpers etc. If I cannot find these docs what would they pay out approx 10% 40% 70% of new replacements.
Had a house fire kitchen gone but I lived in the kitchen and the indoor clothes line was packed with drying clothes (Rayburn heat). Any help will be appriciated
Depreciation or wear and tear deductions for clothes and linen is quite normal in household insurance - you may get new for old if the clothes are brand new and you can produce a receipt, but I'd be extremely surprised if new for old is given for clothes that have been worn (if they do, can I have the name of the insurance company please as I would like to insure with them!).
