MM and KM Links December 2010 [Week 1]
19 Answers
I must begin by confessing to yet another slip up in my marking last week. Having printed off SIX pages of predictions, the second page dropped out of sequence and was overlooked. Fortunately, it contained the details of only three entrants: viz. those of Dinkypuzzled, centrino and jan1956. Two of these were pointless, but centrino went with Flower Power, which entitled him to two more points to add to his earlier total of six points. With a final score of EIGHT POINTS, centrino should have been catapulted to the top of the League Table and pipped ulysses by only one point.
Giving credit where it was due, centrino reached a very impressive total following a very demanding month of Links set by the enigmatic slaney. Nevertheless, ex-champion centrino last set the links at the beginning of this year and therefore I would still have skipped over centrino and gone to second placed ulysses ~ so we would have eventually ended up at the same outcome. The MM Linkers contain some very powerful crossword solvers and none more skilled than slaney and ulysses. Hence, it seems to me fitting that the MM Crown should be passed down from slaney to ulysses.

I look forward to his second reign which should begin when he opens the channel of communication on AB tomorrow at 08.45am and his four words to be linked should be posted at 9.00am. That’s when the new December MM Links challenge kicks off in earnest. Remember ~ early MM hits gain bonus points!
As usual, I ask that you should also look out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict precisely). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz ( Roo-land) and is my good friend, “seekeerz”. She is truly the “Wizard-ess of Oz”. She is an incredibly pleasant individual ~ as long as you don’t mention Test Cricket!
As I always say ~ “Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” You have nothing to lose. Both games remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards to trace progress through each monthly contest.
Until I see you tomorrow, may I wish you ~ “Happy Linking”!

Very quiet on here !! Just popped on to say I have got the dreaded lurgie so won't be around tonight. I think every bone in my body aches (and my teeth do too) Am pretty fed up as I have felt like this for 4 days and am getting fed up just sitting (or lying) watching TV and the snow !!!
Will no doubt be up in time for links but if I am up to my usual standard it will be nil points !!!!

Evening all, sorry you're not feeling well evsajo. I've been catching up on last Tuesday's episode of Turn back Time - fascinating. Still just a bit of snow lying round Warwick, but the roads are mostly clear and we can get about; feel really sorry for all those who are enduring very bad conditions. Hang in there, everyone - it won't last for ever.
Good evening all,
Sorry you're feeling low Kay, I hope that you're better soon. You can't beat a good hot toddy, especially in this weather.
Dug the car out from under 9 inches of snow on Wednesday, intending to go to my office on Thursday, but when I woke up it was under another 3 inches, therefore didn't bother as it carried on snowing for most of the day! In fact, the car hasn't moved since I came in from the golf course on Monday. It's about time the gritters came around my area. At least the M25 is now clear, albeit with up to 10 hours delays (which is why I'm glad I haven't been to the office).
As for decorations, they'll stay in the loft until Chrismas Eve!!
