As I was walking into town today, I nearly slid and fell on me ask-no-questions a few times then I had a revellation re. snowy / icy weather:

NHS/government funded mini-crampons for the elderly and infirm.
Nothing too jagged, just something to give them a bit of grip.

Good idea or what !!

LMAO ..to the "strap-ons" question ?
Hmm, maybe I thought I saw a pattern forming here for a moment ... and the poster that appeared elsewhere a few minutes before it was zapped ...

Of course, i'm totally wrong and just imagining things.
Yes, AP ...and somewhere to hang their shopping too.
Kosmos - I did wear my golf shoes - left the clubs at home as I didn't expect a queue at the till

For those in bereavement of "Buch Suspenders" (gotta be said in a broad Scottish accent IMO) feel free to express your loss within this thread.

I'm not 100% serious about fitting Britain's elderly with jagged metal spikes on their feet (though it might give potential muggers and yobs something to think about "Keep away from me ya little c**t ! ..or I'll stamp on yer Nikies!")
What has amazed me, as I carefully inch my way through the snow and ice in search of life's necessities (gin and fags) is the kindness shown by young and not so young people who have stopped to enquire if I need assistance. It makes me feel older than I am, but has restored my faith in human nature.
I'm neither infirm nor elderly, just look it when I'm walking on ice! Must be genetic, my daughter,23, is the same!

Yes, most of them are ok ...as for the rest: SPIKES TO THE FEET !!
