I've just eaten some mini stollen cakes which my mum brought rounda last night. I didn't really like them much as they had marzipan in them but I have no other cakes around so they had to be eaten.

Are there any cakes that you would never eat? Wedding cake has to be my worst nightmare cake or anything with marzipan - yuk!

I was in the cake shop next to where I work last week buyin my usual cheese pasty and vanilla slice and a lady asked for a rum truffle, which sounded interesting. I bought one, they were shaped and decorated like mini christmas puddings. It was awful, way too rich and I took one bite and binned it.

Dark fruit cake of any sort seems to be a popular no no.

I do like fruit loaf though. Nice for breakfast with butter instead of just toast.
Black Forest Gateau and anything with apple in it
Marzipan is delicious, especially the choc coverd slabs you can buy

Did it have chocolate in it Dot? I made some truffles using Xmas pudding and dark chocolate. It was a Nigella recipe and they turned out ok but very rich.

Ah yes, the infamous AB Klowns!
you have the cake - give me the marzipan; I eat it by the block, no chance of it being rolled or dressed = my addiction.
I love Viennese whirls, millionaire shortbread and meringues from one of our local bakers.

I can eat stollen and it is okay but it is not a great favourite.

I have just remembered - baked alaska is gorgeous too.

Ooo I love millionaires shortbread.

I do find it weird that I hate marzipan but quite like almonds.
