Toshiba laptop. mouse cursor jumping around even when keeping finger still on it. writing this with difficulty. What can I do? Can I plug in an ordinary mouse to make it work? Broke and can't afford shop repair at the moment. Thank you.
You will certainly be able plug in a USB mouse, on the assumption that you have a spare USB port. Whether it will fix the problem, however, is largely dependent on what the problem is.
How old is the machine?
What operating system are you running?
Unlikely to be a hardware problem, unless the mouse pad has been damaged in some way. You should definitely consider an upgrade to Windows 7, though - Vista is awful..
