vat increase - can i avoid it?

hi, i have got a car on one of those personal plans which will finish in march next year. I am going to order a new one this december and put a deposit down.. the car won't arrive till next march so can i avoid the VAT increase by ordering it before Jan?

And I'd be surprised if they actually let you start a new plan before finishing the old one. Even if they did the payments are assessed individually for VAT not based on the start date. The period from January 4th would still be 20%.
If the deposit is termed a separate element of the payments then you might, as Eddie says, avoid VAT on that part.
