It is not possible. An ISA is held in the name of the individual and on the death of that individual the funds cease to hold their ISA (tax-advantageous) status.
You will not necessarily have to cash the account(s) in but the financial institution holding them will insist on the transfer out from their ISA wrapper.
If there is no Will, doesn't the money go into the estate of the deceased, to be dealt with by probate? Not clear why not?

Very small estate, all else in joint names except this one isa. £98 fee to go to probate.
Happy to transfer to current account or to own isas. can it be done without probate?
How much is in ISA?
You are asking two different questions.
Yes, you can deal with the accounts without going to probate because the value of the estate is so low - you didn't say that on the first post.
No, you cannot transfer the ISA account of the deceased into an ISA account in your own name - you lose the tax-advantageous ISA-wrapper on the account. That is what I assumed you were asking since that is the way you worded your question - ISA transfer from deceased to wife. You can of course convert the account into cash and have to returned to you as a cheque.
... and then you could pay it into an ISA in your name provided it is within the annual ISA limit
Yes, it is a strightforward process to transfer money from an ISA to a wife`s account if there is no probate. Just inform the building society/bank and supply a copy of the death certificate. If the deceased`s wife is not a tax payer, there is not much requirement for an ISA anyway.
