even though the snow is thawing it is very ,very icy and i cant get out,our little car park is empty(no cars can get up the hill).son got to work for the 1st.time this week,he had to walk or slide to the bottom of the hill to get the car,he took a bit of old carpet with him in case he gets stuck.my fridge is getting a bit sparse,no veggies or potatoes but i have some frozen.so for tea tonight i have the last of my vegetable soup, burgers and fried onions(bread limited) then i am going to make some pancakes, will that go with stewed rhubarb and total cream?

My FH came from Saltcoats and lived variously around there, Ardrossen and Glasgow. And he has the cheek to winge that it is -5 here. I keep telling him he is a bigger wuss than me! (Mind you, he does tend to turn the heating off, the stingy old barsteward).

OH's mum is in Hamilton, says there is a slight thaw tonight, she's making a list and getting a taxi to ASDA tomorrow - no way she's taking the car out yet, but she's not been out of the house for over a fortnight!
slinky, JJ's idea was wonderful, but have you got a massive freezer and larder?
