David Cameron says those who hijacked the demonstration and perpetrated acts of violence must be brought to justice, but has anyone heard that any arrests were made at this incident?

dotty read this and you may have a better idea of how the police tactics work

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kettling
Yes but footbalkl fans have paid a ticket to watch a football match and so they know they will be able to get fed and watered at the ground, why would dozy students who are just out to follow their mates mess their lives up even think about that sort of thing, they're kids with no experience of anything except mouthing off about stuff they have no idea about and should be bloody grateful they're in a country that others fought for so they could act like yobs
dotty. they used the kettling tactics in london , you would not have the option of going into a macdonalds, the police would herd you away and on down the street.
i say good luck to the peacefull demonstrators, the students have ,as has anyone a right to demonstrate. just wait until vat is increased in january. and the public service cuts will affect all of us............the security staff made a huge error last night.
some on here will say this lad ran backwards into the police baton

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has launched a probe into one incident which left 20-year-old student Alfie Meadows requiring brain surgery after allegedly being hit with a truncheon.
Do you think Prince Charles even knows what these demo's were about ?

I think the government have stuffed up on this one.
We need a well educated work force. These people will pay taxes one day and drive the economy. My education was free and I now pay tax at a rate of 40% plus.
Perhaps the students would get more respect if they demonstrated in a civilised manner.
If they are intent on attacking the seat of a democratically elected Government then the Army should be deployed to control the next demonstration.
Could free up some of those over subscribed places that they can't seem to afford.
Bring on the water cannon.
Using violence to enforce your politics is not the way.
Unless it's Iraq , Afghanistan that's o.k.
Nothing new about kettling. I was on the wrong end of it in the 50's on the Suez demo. We were wearing ties and university scarves and really quite docile but it didn't make any odds.We were pushed into side streets by horses. The difference was that we were genuine students and rentamob hadn't made their unwelcome intervention. So we took it cheerfully. Waited till they chose to let us go and went quietly away. Reckon the vast majority are just the same today.
seadogg it is a pain when you a have best seats for the game and they get you to the ground just after kick off
