I have a family group photo, which when I clic on the properties button I am told is: 600kb EasyShare.jpg I want to cut a face out of it and blow it up in a separate picture. Does anyone know how to do this. I know it is something to do with crop, but I cant remember which programme I need to be in to do it, or how to do it. Thanks for your help, anyone!

Almost every photo manipulation program has a crop tool on it. On Photoshop 7 it is the third tool down on the Tool box which normally appears at start up. You just postion the cursor over it and click. That selecs the tool Then you move the mouse cursor to the area of the picture you wish to keep, Draw a box and you can then use the arrow handes on the box to move it around to where you want it. When ready, press Enter and the image is cropped Use Image size in Image to make the area cropped the size you want it and then Save as under a different name.
Or if using PS then 'C' brings up the Crop tool!

The picture opens in 'windows picture and fax viewer' (that is written across the top of the screen). If I right clic on the picture I get an option called 'open with' the arrow to the right of this gives me the options of:

windows picture and fax manager
microsoft office picture manager
nero photoshop image viewer
paint
HP photosmart premier

Can anyone talk me through how to do it using one of those programmes?
thank you very much

thanks for help. I have have tried with picasa2, but dont seem to be getting anywhere. Can anyone talk me through how to do it with one of the programmes I have got?
thanks
Open with Paint. In the tool box on the top right you will see a dotted square(top right of tool box) Click on that to slect it. Move the mouse cursor to the top corner of the piece you want to draw round. Hold the right hand mouse button down and drag the box round the piece you want. Go to Image and click on crop in there.
Then again in Image find Resize and change the size. Keep it in proportion or the face will look odd. So if the piece you cut out is say 400 pixles by 200 then 800 by 400 or 1200 by 600 would be ok. Play with the sizes until you are happy before saving.
