yes! you can fall pregnant at any time during your cycle, its just that some days are more furtile than others.

i thought the old wives tale 'you cant get pregnant if you have sex when youre menstruating' had finally died a death.
If sex was unprotected, then YES.

Thank you for your replies
Of course you can unless you used contraception. Lets elaberate on this... I remember in school our science teacher sayin that it has been known for women to get preg on everyday of the cycle, even when on! So why do people think you cant get preg on certains days of the month?

Kinda figured that if it was a few days before the my period I wouldnt be so at risk - i had sex 8 times on Saturday and am due Thursday. Stupid - yes completely!!!
at least you realise how stupid you have been. Too late for the morning after pill now too.
Surely if youre mature enough to be having an adult sexual relationship then youre mature enough to be able to know how to protect yourself, not only from pregnancy but from the rising number of STDs about.
It's possible you could still have an IUD fitted as emergency contraception but you'd have to act quickly to check whether it would be suitable for you.

It was with my long standing bf. What a **** ive been. I think it will be ok though - will find out soon enough!!
8 times wow!!

Most people ovulate on aoround day 14 of their cycle,, so a few days either side of this is normally when people trying for a baby would have lots of sex. However we ovulate at different times, I know I personally ovualte on days 8 or 9. I have a few ovarian cysts and can feel it. I would imagine it would be a very small percentage of women that ovulate as late as you have had sex but like has been said, you can get pregnant at anytime during your cycle. Sperm can live for 2 to 5 days and up to 7 days if it reaches the fallopian tubes. So if you were to ovulate over the next 7 days it would be likely you would get pregnant.

Yes 8 times actually it was 9 times come to think about it ! Cant believe ive been silly! Hadnt seen him in 3 weeks and got carried away!! Im sure i will be ok - my cycle is very regular - 28 days - so i will know something could be up if it aint here by Thursday. Will keep my fingers crossed!!
at least you are prepared for the worst, it might not be too late to get the morning after pill or I think you can have the coil fitted up to day 5 after unprotected sex to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Phone your doctor. Also if you havent had your period by thirs it would probs bvbe soon to do a test, as I think its about day 14 that you start showing enough hcg for a urine test to detect, so might have to wait till the saturday, to save wasted money. Its horrid worrying of you are pregnant. Fingers crossed for you.
oh and dont beat yourself up over it, those who never made mistakes, never did anything!

Many thanks for your advice! Fingers crossed !!!!
not only can you, but it doesn't necessarily take penetration either. Just a deposit made on the upper thigh or outer groan area can result in a pregnancy. Those little guys have a mission and they know where to go. It only takes one and the pull out method is no guarantee either. You can get pregnant at anytime during your cycle.
Sorry!
Like goodsoulette said lezzel, best thing you could do is go and see your doctor or the family planning clinic although waiting til Thursday to see if you get your period or not is going to be agonising for you!
Also, you wouldn't be the first to make a mistake so don't let unhelpful comments get to you. Good luck!
