i've made a lemon drizzle cake that i normally serve with cream and raspberries.
I could only get blueberries today and want to soften them in a bit of alcohol, but not sure which to use. Brandy? rum?

Rum, definitely.
love blueberries. gin ?
I'd say vodka, or white rum ... not a dark spirit, personally.
Question Author
would you warm them in the rum? Would you add sugar?
the juniper berries would clash with the blueberries. Vodka would give a kick yet with no taste.

Maybe I'm biased because I don't like rum or brandy much, although raisins and sultanas soaked in brandy and orange are OK for cooking. I would have said Gin or Vodka although the vodka may not taste very much.
You know that means ''Two penises please'', don't you Dotty?
Oohh I say Garth Brookes is a bit of a looker isn't he!
Gin!
vodka,although white rum would work
