Did you see the Royal Variety last night ,brilliant entertainment ,I thought Micky Flaneggan was superb.Michael Mc Intyre was really good as well and his skit about the X Factor was sublime
Cheryl Cole Mimed her song her,the microphone was covering her mouth and the camera shots were done to avoid seeing her cheating ,
Not to sure about the chap on the skates ,thats the show I suppose
A great nights TV for once, well done BBC

I'm sure the "ice-skater" actually had inline skates on, ie with wheels. You couldn't have got water to freeze so quickly for him to skate on!

Oh I agree sddsddean. Watching spellbound takes all your attention as it is because there is so much happening but OMG the camerawork was so disjointed that I nearly fell off my chair!
I used to watch a bit of Strictly but stopped for the very same reason - jumping between too many camera angles so that i could barely see the footwork!

A Vision Mixer told me that some Directors want a 'Cameras Cut' virtually every 3seconds. Most annoying and distracting I think.

Know what you mean shivvy. Its a dancing competition and half the time the shots are 'waist and above' so you can't see if their feet are doing (in my amateur eyes) the right thing!
