X Factor winners song

Ok, I watched the X Factor and for the most part enjoyed it.
But come on, Matt's winners song was written and released by another band LAST YEAR. Surely there has to be some originality incorporated, I hope Matt doesnt become Cowell's latest puppet and can one day be taken seriously as a singer/songwriter.
He hardly changed the arrangement of "Many Of Horror" and therefore didnt even make it his own. Despite being a Matt fan, he really hasnt done the record any justice.

he is a decent karaoke singer, no more. why can't these so called talents write their own material. its just a glamourised karaoke contest and lots of gullible people buy into it. i find it ironic that a talentless individual like cheryl cole or is it tweedy is telling people whether or not they can sing. its a craze that will pass like i'm a nobody get me out of here, big brother etc etc. trash tv and thank god for sky !!
