The Event -Channel 4
3 Answers
Has anyone been watching this programme on Friday nights. 10 episodes into a set of 12, it has disappeared from the recordings, obviously due to Christmas and New Year, with no indication as to whether the last two episodes will be shown, or when. I get very annoyed with TV channels that start a series, and just because the viewing figures are not what were wanted, they take it off before the end, or schedule it at some ridiculous time without giving any indication of what they are doing. They did it several months ago with another US Science Fiction series, the story didn't end but it has disappeared never to be seen again. I am getting to the stage that I refuse to start watching them again as there is nothing so annoying as not being able to get to the end. Its like having read a book to the last few pages and then finding them missing. What do other viewers out there think.

The series has 22 episodes (not 12) so I can only assume that the Channel 4 and E4 schedules don't have sufficient capacity to accommodate the series in its entirety.

The problem is nothing to do with Channel 4. The NBC network in America has only shown 10 episodes and there are no more scheduled until March, I believe.
The problem is UK channels showing them so close to their US airdates that any breaks they have also force us to do the same. It seems to be the norm now to air US series this way, so it will annoy us more and more, unfortunately.

i know the us always have these ridiculous breaks about two thirds of the way through a series, they did it with lost, every time, they have now done it with lie to me and house. We missed a couple of episodes of lie to me because it disappears from the recording planner and then you don't know when its going to come back. Don't mind quite so much with the series where each episode is complete but it is definitely very annnoying. Would serve them right if everybody stopped watching altogether until they stop doing it. Not likely though
