French song

Hi, the advert is, I think for train travel, the song is in french it reminds me of an old Pretenders song, called I go to sleep is it the same song????? cheers

I'm not sure, but I'm glad someone else has noticed this. I agree it does sound very much like I Go To Sleep - as you say, a hit for The Pretenders but written by Ray Davies of The Kinks.

It is indeed a French version of the Ray Davies song 'I Go To Sleep' which was a hit for the Pretenders. It was originally recorded in the 1960's by a singer called Virginie, but as permission to use the track could not be obtained, it was re-recorded especially for the Eurostar ad with a new vocal by singer Suzanne Barbieri. Her website address is below, although there's nothing about the ad on it at present, I know it was her!
