Does anyone have any thoughts on Tommy Sheridan being found guilty of perjury at Glasgow high court today ? Does anyone really care ?

I assume his wife does. Given how much the enquiry cost the police I'm not sure it was worth it. Still I suppose justice has to be seen to have been done, just a shame that the winners were the crappy News of the World.

I do feel sorry for Gail, his wife, but the cost to the taxpayer has been horrendous..who will pay court costs? will News of the World have to cough up as they appealed the original verdict ? And now the tax payer has to pay for his time in HM's pleasure... Would they not be better spending money on locking up murderers and rapists and find another form of punishment for these so called white collar crimes.

Absolutely agree murray. I don't think Sheridan will find prison particularly tough, so fail to see what good a custodial sentence would do. I always find it strange when they lock up pensioners for not paying their council tax.....I'm sure the local crime rate really drops.

He will probably be venerated inside..especially if Barlinnie or Shotts....Perhaps an enforced stay at a closed order of monks would be more appropriate?
