Have just discovered that Windows 7 is not compatible with my ancient modem. Need to get another one asap - no time to go via BT (my ISP). Off to PC World - any recommendations please?

Internal or external?
1 or 2 sockets (i.e. do you need to plug a phone into it as well?)

Yes, BT provided the original modem years ago. Have now ordered an up-to-date home hub (modem by any other name?) which may or may not arrive on 29th. If it doesn't come by 30th, i'm up the creek without a paddle. But thanks for your comments.
