I've just popped to see my Grandad...asked him how his xmas dinner was and he said he didn't really eat much because he'd filled himself up on chocolate. I asked him what chocolate and he pointed to a bag saying he'd got them from his carers. I had a look and had to point out that they weren't from his carers....but from him TO his carers...lol
Then he said 'I didn't even like them'

Hi moonraker558, I'm loving it and as China Doll says it aint over yet! What's not to love? Time off work, exchanging gifts with friends and family, watching corny old films and eating 24/7! And then we get to do it all again today,,,and then of course there's Hogmanay and New Years,,,canny wait! :P
Moonraker, I don't think you can generalise - had a lovely day yesterday watching my grandsons face light up and we had a super meal and played games too.
Today the rest of the family are coming so all three grandchildren here, more wonderment and fun (plus hot beef muffins).
For people who have no one and feel it is pushed in their faces, I can understand them wanting it over, but not if you have family and love and belief in the future.

looks like people in Yorkshire spent the day calling 999:
"One person dialled 999 to report a packet of rice missing from a cupboard while another called for advice about a snoring dog.
And one woman from West Yorkshire decided she needed police help when a black cat got into her house."
