We're in that little pocket of days between Christmas and New Year's Eve which feels like an almost endless Sunday afternoon. The buzz of Christmas behind us and the looming spectre of the New Year ahead.

Is it too early to ask if you'll be making resolutions?

Is it also too early to start totting up the damage done to waist-lines over the past few weeks?

Probably! But there are other questions! Have you chucked out the family yet? (Or have you made a daring escape)? And is there anyone worrying their hangover might still be hanging around on New Year's eve?

I simply cannot understand why anybody would want to go to the sales and get trampled to death. I watched the news in horror. Surely the Christmas period is for family and friends and a time for relaxing. I hate shopping at the best of times, but what goes on in the sales amazes me!!

I also noticed on the news that the vast majority of people stampeding in London were of Asian origin with a great deal of Chinese. Do they come over here like we used to go to the New York!! Madness!!

Because of the weather, coupled with the fact I hate sales shopping - there aint been a great deal to do. I too feel like this period is an endless Sunday afternoon. I have put on what feels like a stone and watched hours and hours of DVD's. As much as I hate having nothing to do, I will long for such days when my work schedule starts to pile up in Jan

I've got to go and buy work shoes/boots. I literally have no comfortable shoes left to wear. I was lucky it snowed and I got to wear wellies for a while.... don't want to go out there :-/
